El Campello or Finestrat for the winter months, numbers from a retired couple
My wife Giulia and I are 64 and 61, from Bologna, and since spring we look for a small house on the Costa Blanca for October to April. We are down to two towns and I am not able to choose alone, so I write here, because in this group people are not shy to give an opinion.
El Campello: flat of 78 m2, third floor with lift, 400 metres from the tram stop, the sea you see only from the kitchen. Asking price 229.000.
Finestrat, the old village up the hill: house of 96 m2 on two levels, small terrace looking at Benidorm, no lift of course, 15 minutes by car to the beach. Asking 241.000.
For five months I followed what was listed on https://alegria-realestate.com/ in both places, one evening a week, to understand what stays on the market and what goes fast. In Finestrat the houses with a terrace go faster than I expected.
Giulia wants the village. I think in ten years the stairs will decide for us. Who here bought for retirement and chose the stairs anyway, and how was it after some years?
